1^er concert d’orchestre en Amérique en présence de Maurice Ravel, débarqué à New York le 4 janvier 1928 et logé au Langdon Hotel. À la fin du concert, Serge Koussevitzky invita Maurice Ravel à venir sur l’estrade, où il fut acclamé. Le même 7 janvier 1928, Maurice Ravel fut invité à une réception privée en son honneur donnée par Mrs Thomas Edison.
